As a specialist provider of Positive Behaviour Support, we see every day the difference that thoughtful, consistent support can make in people’s lives.
That’s why we’re proud to be delivering the School of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), in partnership with MedHealth Academy and the University of Melbourne.
What is the School of Positive Behaviour Support?
The School of Positive Behaviour Support strengthens how we develop our practitioners by embedding structured, credentialed learning into our PBS development pathway.
It builds on our existing development model, combining practical experience, supervision and formal training to support practitioners as they progress in capability and confidence.
“This is about more than training. It’s about strengthening how PBS is delivered in practice, supporting practitioners to develop their capability and ensuring the people we support receive consistent, high-quality services.”
Cara Newman, Director Clinical Services, Outcomes Connect Australia.
Our partnership with the University of Melbourne
Through our partnership with the University of Melbourne, a globally recognised tertiary institution, we are integrating university-backed micro-credentials into our practitioner development pathway.
From 2026, new practitioners will complete the University of Melbourne PBS: Assessment and Planning course as part of their induction. Additional micro-credentials for experienced practitioners will be introduced in the coming months.
These credentials formally recognise practitioner capability while strengthening the structure and consistency of PBS training.
Strengthening PBS practice
By formalising training and embedding credentialed learning aligned with the NDIA capability framework, the School of PBS contributes to strengthening practitioner capability and supporting consistent, accountable PBS delivery.
As a specialist PBS provider, this is an important step in continuing to evolve how the workforce is developed and supported.
For participants and referrers, this means confidence that PBS services are delivered by practitioners supported through structured learning, supervision and recognised training. It also supports more consistent, high-quality outcomes and reinforces a reliable approach to PBS delivery.
Building a stronger PBS workforce
The School of Positive Behaviour Support is also an investment in the future of the PBS workforce. By providing clearer pathways, formal recognition of capability and ongoing development opportunities, it supports both practitioner growth and long-term workforce sustainability.
