What I like most about supporting people with a disability is building genuine connections and creating a safe, respectful space where people feel heard, understood, and empowered. I enjoy working alongside individuals to recognise their strengths, support their goals and help navigate challenges in a way that promotes independence, wellbeing and quality of life.
This may include navigating restrictive practice requirements, ensuring any use is minimised, ethically considered and always focused on safeguarding the rights and dignity of the person. Seeing someone gain confidence, experience success or feel more control in their journey is the most rewarding part of my role as a PBS clinician and Behaviour support Team Lead.
